Tecan Safire²™ -
Bridging the gap between enhanced research, assay development and high Safire²™has been developed with the drug discovery process in mind. Due to its in-built flexibility, sensitivity and
performance, Safire²™ is the ideal instrument to bridge the gap between assay development and high throughput
screening. Safire²™is a fully modular microplate detection system based on the quad-4 monochromator quad-4
technology that offers a range of high speed detection techniques. In assay development and demanding research
environments, where frequent changing of applications and fluorophores is required, Safire²™ eliminates the need for
cumbersome filter changes thereby saving time and money. The modular concept of Safire²™ allows upgrades to new detection modes at any time if there is a need to have access to
further applications. Detection modules are available for top and bottom fluorescence intensity measurements,
fluorescence polarization studies and multi-channel absorbance and luminescence measurements. Safire²™ is easily
combined with a stacker module for batch processing of up to 50 microplates. Tecan Safire²™ passed the validation criteria under the following conditions: Excitation wavelength equaled 635 nm, emission wavelength equaled 670 nm with a 20nm bandwidth; instrument was set to 1 flash and delay between move and read equaled 50 ms.
