bob.lowery@bellbrooklabs.com
Bob provides the overall vision for the company, establishes the broad scientific strategy, and plays the lead role in securing grant and investor financing. Prior to starting BellBrook Labs in May of 2002, Bob served for ten years as Vice President of R&D at PanVera Corporation, and previously served as Director of Manufacturing at Promega Corporation, both in Madison, Wisconsin. At PanVera he was one of two individuals who provided the scientific leadership for turning a startup into a profitable biotech company employing more than 100 people, and including a merger with Aurora Biosciences. During this time he participated in the development of the HTS reagent market in its infancy, helping to overcome initial pharma resistance to purchasing screening reagents. Some of the innovations he introduced to the market have been widely adapted, including the concept of integrated HTS assay kits incorporating purified drug target proteins and detection reagents, and HTS assays based on fluorescence polarization detection.
John Majer
Chief Operating Officer

john.majer@bellbrooklabs.com
John manages the day-to-day operations of BellBrook Labs, overseeing Sales and Marketing, Finance and Accounting, and IT. John has over 15 years of business management experience in biotechnology and information technology, with an emphasis on sales and marketing. He initially served as a production manager for Sigma Chemicals, later transitioning to sales and marketing within Sigma, and then at Promega Corporation, where he started and managed their DNA typing business. In the latter role, John built a successful sales and marketing infrastructure for a highly technical market with a small number of key customers, a situation very similar to the HTS market. His activities included direct sales, training other sales people, building a customer database, and managing all of the marketing functions. His efforts led to a successful business unit that captured 60% of a multi-million dollar market in two years. John also served as the information technology manager for North American Insurance and Madison Newspapers.
